HOLLYWOOD, Sept, 19 (U, P.) .— Crooner Bing Crosby will enter St. John's hospital at Santa Monica for a “routine checkup” within a week, his physicians said today. Crosby, currently on the Paramount lot to make “Blue Skies,” was reported ill with a kidney ailment.

DEFENDS MADISON ON POLLUTION ORDER
MADISON, Ind., Sept. 19 (U. P.). ~—Mayor O, L. Head said today that an Indiana stream pollution control board order against the city of Madison looked like “a case of discrimination.” 3 ; The board ordered the city to cease pollution of the Ohio river by Nov. 1. The mayor said he favored a new
