Patricia Eaglesfild's Engagement To Lt. Kirchhoffer Is Announced

MR. AND MRS. ROBERT DAVY EAGLESFIELD . announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia, to Lt. Richard Ainslie Kirchhoffer Jr, U. S. N. R. Lt. Kirchhoffer is the son of the Rt. Rev. Richard A. Kirchhoffer, bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Kirchhoffer. The wedding will be in October, Miss Eaglesfield attended Sweet Briar college and the John Her« ron Art school. She is a member of the Junior league, Christamore Aid society, The Players club, the Indiana Society of Colonial Dames of America and the Gen. Arthur St, Clair chapter, D. A+R. Lt. Kirehhoffer was graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. He has served three years in the South Pacific area and is now an instructor at midshipman’s school at the University of Notre Dame, : ;

Players Club Arranges Events THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE of The Players club has announced program dates for the club’s 40th season. The committee includes the group’s officers, who are L. G. Gordner, president; Mrs. A. K. Scheidenhelm, vice president; Frank A. Throop, treasurer; Mrs, Walter C. Hiser, secretary, and G. Vance Smith, fifth member, The first meeting will be held Nov. 24 and the committee in charge includes Dr. and Mrs. J. Jerome Littell, Messrs, and Mesdames Louis Haerle, Claude Jones and George M. Halverson. The second event will be Jan. 26. Those who will make the arrangements are Dr. and Mrs. James Collins, Dr. and Mrs. Cleon Nafe, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoke and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas 8. Hood. Dr. and Mrs, Raymond M. Rice, Messrs, and Mesdames Charles R. Weiss, Harlan J. Hadley and Herman C. Wolff are in charge of the program on March 23. The final meeting on May 19 will be directed by the executive committee. Members of the production committee for the season are Mrs, George Fotheringham, Miss Anne Shaw Davis, Jack Harding and Percy H. Weer.

Nursery Auxiliary Sets Luncheon A LUNCHEON MEETING will be held Tuesday afternoon by the Junior auxiliary fo the Indianapolis Day Nursery. The luncheon will be at 1 o'clock in the home of Mrs, B. E. LaPenta, Williams Creek. The auxiliary's board will have a noon meeting preceding the luncheon. Mrs. James D. Ransberg, ways and means; Mrs. George Bardwell, motor corps; Mrs. Walter C. D. A. R. Chapters Will Meet A NUMBER OF CHAPTERS of the Indiana D. A. R. have arranged group meetings for this fall. The meetings will replace the annual state conference canceled because of travel restrictions. One such group meeting in the center district will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Caroline Scott Harrison chapter house. Members of the Franklin, Edinburg, Danville, Greencastle and Indiandpolis chapters will attend. The central district director is Mrs. ‘Wayne M. Cory of Veedershurg. ? State D. A. R. officers will attend, and state committee chairmen and chapter regents will give reports. Registration will begin at 10 a. m. and luncheon will be served at 12:15 p. m. The reception committee will include the Caroline Scott Harrison chapter's management board. Reservations may be made with Mrs. Ora P. Pierson. Music will be provided by Mrs. L. E. Wallace, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. John Haymaker. The luncheon chairman, Mrs. Noble W. Hiatt, will be assisted by Mrs. Harry A. VanOsdol and Mrs. J. S. Marlowe.
