DEAR JANE JORDAN—My husband has been coming home at all hours of the morning and I find shirts and handkerchiefs smeared with lipstick. He is very mean and cruel after one of his drinking sprees. He is badly in debt and doesn’t know which way % turn. Therefore, after a marriage of 15 years I left him and took our eight - year « old daughter who seems to love him. I need some financial aid from Jane Jordan him which he hasn't given. I could force him to pay but I hate to do this. He is living in a hotel and I visited him there. He was 11, but still cold and indifferent and doesn’t want us back. I love him even though I know others are taking my plade. He is 36 years old and I am a few years younger. He has a father living who would take him home and care for him but he doesn't go there, His family does not approve of his
WAYS, I would gladly take oare of him if

Answer—It is foolish for you 'to
such circumstances. What is the point in punishing yourself? Your willingness to sacrifice yourself has not made him want you. Now don't be so soft. Do the practical thing and get legal aid. ! Your child is entitled to support by her father, Your failure to get it isn't helping him any, It only gives him more to spend in dissipation, : You can't save a 36-year-old man who doesn't want to be saved. It is a tragic situation, but if you're courageous ‘you won't sink with him. You'll stop shaking and make a new life for yourself and your child, Other women have done so. JANE JORDAN.
