Unless you go to reasonable lengths to safeguard your teeth . . . it might happen that they may fail to give you service, It is difficult to understand public indifference to dental care when you have only to consider the effect which poor teeth have upon health: Much of the nation’s illness is traceable to a breakdown in health due to infection. FASHION DIGTUM
NEW YORK, Sept. 12 (U. P.)— Twenty-five manufacturers of gen|tlemen’s wear revealed today that the well-dressed man will be drap ing his shape this winter in maroon and gray—-‘not conservative, ‘but not loud.” | The members of the Men's Fashlion Guild—most of them neatly at{tired in blues and browns—unveiled {their wares at the Ambassador hotel. The wares looked pretty—from suits to underwear. Lots of them were sports and leisure clothes. David A. Church, president of the guild, said that was a post-war trend, “Men will be working fewer ‘hours,’ he said, “and men want to be comfortable—at resorts or driving their cars” All the suits shown were gray— from light to oxford. A few tweed sports jackets introduced a maroon thread or two. But sport shirts were both colors. Swankiest looking jackets were a pair in gray suede. Shirts Striped Home leisure was represented. Robes were gray woolen with maroon piping, or maroon with gray piping, or silk prints in both colors, Shirts were mostly striped. Undershorts followed the color scheme. The gaudiest item in the show was a cotton knit undershirt—red and white stripes. 7 The gentlemen's manufacturers have felt shortages, Church said, mostly in fine worsteds and cash-

and of course just plain white cottons for. shirts and shorts. They aren’t worried about nylon or elastic for anything but garters and suspenders. They expect most shortages will be over within six months. They professed ignorance of men reported to be wearing ladies’ undies. “My own underwear,” one welldressed manufacturer said, “is in good condition, frankly.”
