Mr, Cangany, who was 52, died yesterday in the Veterans’ hospital. He had been ill a year. A lifelong résident of Indianapolis, he was a meniber of the 20-Year-club of Indianapolis railways. He was a vet eran of world war I and a member of Wayne Post, 64, of the American Legion. He also was a member of St, Ann's Catholic church, Survivors include his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Miss Mary Cangany, Indianapolis; a son, Sgt. John F. Cangany, serving on Okinawa; his mother, Mrs, Anne Cangany; two brothers, Daniel J, and Joseph M., and a sister, Miss Catherine Cangany, all of Indian-| apolis.

He has been direc~ tor of the Connecticut veterans’ reemployment and advisory commission the last two years, Mr. Light previously taught six years at Rushville. He also was assistant professor of vocational education at Connécticut Teachers’ college two years. -A graduate of Ball State Teachers’ college, he obtained his master's degree at Columbia university.
The bronze star medal for gallantry in action has been awarded to two Indianapolis men. First Lt. Ansil L. Walker, husband of Mrs. Mary Walker, 1450 Central ave, won the medal for service with the 33d division on Luzon. He also wears the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with two stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one star, T. Sgt. John C. Slegesmund, son of Mr, and Mrs. John CO. Slegesmund, 61 Campbell ave., was honored for his service with the 106th infantry division in Europe, His wife, Mrs. Majorie Evans Siegesmund, lives in Shelbyville, Ind.
