PJ, ~The navy today lowered the critical point score for release of naval aviators to 44, the same as that needed by enlisted men. Other male reserve officers must have, 49 points for discharge, It was the first revision in the navy's point system. The navy did not announce it formally or give any official reasons for It, . GUARDSMEN PATROL IOWA REFORMATORY

ELDORA, Iowa, Sept. 1 (U. P| ~Four companies of state guardsmen patrolled the grounds of the Iowa ‘training school today as government officials intensified their investigation into the death of one inmate and the escape of 188 others in the past three days. The, troops, approximately 140 strong and armed with rifies and tear gas were charged with maintaining order at the state-operated institution for underprivileged and delinquent boys. The guardsmen moved in yesterday shortly after Governor Robert Blue ordered the suspension of two attendants and sharply criticized disciplinary practices at the school. Lt. Col, D, W. Moss, commander of the troops, said his men were not participating in the search for the 35 youths still at large.
