Fleming, executive secretary of the Hoosier State Press association, said that the conference will be the first of its kind and will symbolize the formal release of publishers from wartime duty. A certicfiate of “honorable discharge” will be presented to each publisher at a banquet Sept. 14 in| Atterbury Officers’ club by Brig. Gen, Ernest A. Bixby, Camp Atterbury commandant. { To Tour Wakeman The tentative agenda includes a tour of Wakeman hospital and of the separation center while troops are being discharged. The conference will adjourn at noon on the 15th, but a discussion of newspaper reconversion problems will be held in the afternoon. Special invitations will be issued to Governor Gates, Senators Raymond E. Willis and Homer E. Capehart and Maj. Gen. James L. Colling, commanding officer of the 5th service command. The conference will not be limited to members of the press association, but will in- - clude all Indiana publishers, their families and official representatives of state newspapers.

AIRLINES EMPLOYS 25 COMBAT FLIERS

Gardner, vice president of Northwest Airlines, announced today that 25 discharged army combat fliers have been hired by the commercial airlines company. | Gardner said the men are being | retrained for civilian flying and will help in the redeployment of troops Northwest's part in the redeployment program will consist of four transcontinental flights daily, carrying 2500 troops a month.
