JANE JORDAN
DEAR JANE JORDAN-—I am married, 20 years old and have a baby Almost two years old. My husband has been running around with other girls until all hours of the morning. \ He doesn't come home for supper or care if the baby is all right \oi' not. At times he is just swell and then starts all over again. I left

d he came after me. I ‘told * him he ‘could have a night out'\every week to go out with his boy friends. But I sald, I thought \ he should take me out once in a while, I asked him if he rather would be married or single. He says "he doesi’'t know. “He says he loves me but doésn't act like it. He ‘doesn’t ever “hE vis me any more. Jane Jordan I love him and the baby more than anything else. But I think I will go crazy if something doesn't happen, Could you give me any advice? \ READER. ® x =» N Answer—] wish I knew some way $o change your husband, but I do not. As it is you aren't getting uch out of your marriage. And neither ‘is the baby. Now you have your own home. ¥ou do not have to leave your baby with others while you work for a living. Many wives with small children who get divorces wish that they had
put » with things for the advan- |
tage of having a home for their phildren, Of course you could get support for your child. But how long would the father work to pay it? The love you feel for your husband will not endure forever under these circumstances. A woman can stand so much. Then she grows a set of callouses which prevent her from being hurt too much by her husband’s behavior. You're in a tough spot. But if you can stick it out until the baby is a little older, perhaps you can earn your own way. Things seem unbearable to you new but you are young and there still is a chance for you to work out a happier state of affairs. It is just as well to let your husband know that you will not put up with the present unhappy existence forever,

ARGENTINA'S STATE OF SIEGE IS LIFTED}
BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 7 (U. P). —Opponents of the Farrell government today cautiously hailed as a step toward normalcy its lifting of the state of siege that has prevailed in Argentina since 1940.
“It will become a real step when three other indispensable requisites are fulfilled,” Americo Ghioldi, edi~ tor ‘of the Socialist newspaper’ La Vanguardia and a leader of the opposition, said.
as: : “l1-Elimjnation of an official (government) candidate from the forthcoming elections. “2—A halt in the use of public funds to publicize a member of the cabinet and aid him in fighting his political enemies. (The opposition has accused Vice President |”, Col. \Juan Peron, strong man of the government, of misuse of public funds.) : “3—PFixing of a definite date for general and total elections.” President. Gen. Edelmiro Farrell and Interior Minister Hortensio Quijano signed the decree last night lifting the state of seige, effective immediately, . 0’
