Put your problems in a letter to Jane Jordan, who will answer your questions in this column .

“someday.” Do you think we can get her to come back home? W.D. P. ® 0 » GE Answer—Perhaps she is waiting for you to ask her to return. What caused her to leave in the first place? Your only hope is try to understand the woman and see if she is willing to co-operate with you in taking care of the "children. Whatever was wrong should be corrected, -and that will require a different attitude on both sides. Why don’t you see her and talk it over? : : JANE JORDAN.

DEBATE ‘CALIFORNIA GRAPE SHIPPING BAN

WASHINGTON, July 27 (U. P.).— Rep. John Phillips (R. Cal.) today had termed the proposed transportation embargo on shipment of

grape juice from his state “a des-{ perate last resort” which he heped might be made unnecessary by growers’ diversion of the crop into intrastate markets. At a closed meeting of four California congressmen with representatives of the agriculture department, it was agreed that the embargo “would be a bad ‘way to ‘meet the desperate transportation situation,” Phillips said. He said he hoped growers would meet the crisis by diverting their juice grapes into raisin production and by taking full advantage of the California winery market, shipping out only what was absolutely necessary. : ‘The embargo was proposed by the war food administration and office of price: administration to growers in California recently. They have objected to-it strongly. 4
