‘owned 500 barrels; Schweidel, Philadelphia, Pa. 275, and Henry Ungerleider, New York | City, 50 barrels. | The whisky had been stored for [two years in the warehouse of the { Merchants Distilling Co. .at Terre Haute. It.had been part of: the estate of Theodore ‘G. Stein, Philadelphia, who died in June, 1943. It was ‘valued at $54.000. Suit was brought by. the Merchants firm and Judge Baltzell assessed ‘the three principal owners $4.82 per barrel to pay the legal costs. The judge held that 175 barrels of whisky was owned by persons not involved in the suit, W. A. Haller, Inc., Philadelphia, claimed that it was -the rightful owner of the spirits as Stein had | purchased the whisky merely as rthat firm's agent.
