United Brethren youth will hold their summer camp in Indianapolis while many other denominations are trekking to lakes and assembly grounds in the state. The wooded park of Indiana Central college will be the scene of the first annual summer camp for junior high school students July 9 through 14. Preceding this, the older vouth will- meet as usual on the campus Monday through Saturday. The White River conference is sponsor, Young people of all the denominations feeling the call to worship, study and play out of doors are reported to have filled registration lists to overflowing long before the day the ‘church camps to open. Campfires at Night Presbyterians attend conferences and meetings at Camp Kosciusko on Winona lake, Baptists at Lake Tippecanoe, Disciples at. Bethany park near Brooklyn, Methodists at Bishop Roberts park near Mitchell, Evangelicals at Oakwood park on Lake Wawasee, and other denominations in various parts of Indiana. Both U.B. camps will feature roaring campfires at night with youth gathered about them for worship followed by recreation. The importance of. going to college will be stressed along with tours of the buildings and interviews with professors. There will be colorful interpretations of the Bible and of the tenets of the. Baptist pastors and laymen of the Indianapolis area will launch a 25year church extension program | Monday at 30 pm. in the Y.W.C. A, Indianapolis Baptists have approved a proposal made recently by Dr. L. C. Trent for an immediate survey of the community to discover where new churches and Sunday schools are needed. Dr. Trent, pastor of the Woodruff Place Baptist church and chairman of the extension committee, will preside Monday: night, Churches will be grouped. by districts for the survey, A report of the survey will be read. at the meeting the Indianapolis Baptist.
