Argentine TF olor Hurls Chair at Hecklers.

Mr. Hill Prof. Diego Luis | Molinari was wounded over the left eye as students heckled and threw things at him, charging that he was sympathetic to totalitarian ideologies, : Professor Hurls Chair “Force will be put down with force,” roared Prof. Molinari, blood streaming down his face, He picked up his chair and hurled it at the hecklers. One student pulled .out a pistol and shot into the ceiling. Dean Eugenio Blanco suspended and later kicked out the professor! closed the school and opened an investigation. ’ The altercation in Molinari’s classroom was a signal for a bloody student battle. The students are divided into two groups—Democratic and. Nationalist. Their clashes have been symbolic of the conflict now in progress between those two factions in Argentina. Hard Names Used The Democratic students and the liberal-newspapers call the Nationalist students “Nazi-Fascists” while the Nationalists call the Democratic students “Communists.” After the brawl in Molinari’s classroom the two groups met in a pitched battle. The Nationalists | numbered about 100. They roamed through the school, wrecking the classrooms. The -Democratic faction, led by Antonio Jose Romero, and armed) with clubs and small firearms, encountered the Nationalists. Several shots were fired but the students mostly were content to wham one another with clubs. The Nationalist faction was victorious but the Democrats charge that they went into the streets and enlisted reinforcements not connected with the college. Faculty Involved { Dean Blanco called a night fac-| ulty meeting and issued a manifesto against further violence, Other faculty members issued a joint” manifesto upholding Blanco in suspending Prof. Molinari. A heavy police guard has been thrown about the college to prevent further violence during the period of shutdown and investigation, The Nationalist students generally have supported the Farrell-Peron government, which now rules Argentina while the Democratic faction has opposed the incumbent dic-

tatorship.
