entertainer, -.trying to make big time, and Dick Haymes is the love interest in her life. Their efforts to achieve fame and fortune and keep their romance on an even keel at the same time provides the plot for the film. The film brings to the screen one of the best supporting casts in many a day. Phil Silvers’ inimitable brand of comedy is always good for several laughs and Beatrice Kay, heretofore known as the “Gay Nineties Girl” of radio fills in when Silvers takes time out to breathe. Others in the supporting cast are Carmen Cavallaro, nimble fingered pianist, William Gaxton, star of Broadway musical comedy, Willie Solar.

YUGOSLAVS DEPART; TRIESTE AREA QUIET

TRIESTE, June 14 (U. P.).—Quiet and order returned to the disputed Trieste area today following the

Tito's Yugoslav forces across the Yugoslav border. A final ‘flare-up occurred when unorganized bands roamed the streets ripping Italian flags from window ledges, but the flags reappeared later and there were no more demonstrations, Authorities said both British and Yugoslav soldiers maintained a cold, orderly reserve until with. drawal was completed. British tanks still stood at strategic spots with crews ready to act “on 10-mihute notice.” A small fleet of British ships remained in the harbor. Civilians stared in open hostility at the few Yugoslavs remaining in Trieste under agreement. Stories of looting by Tito's men, rather than political reasons, appeared to have swung sentiment against Tito. In other respeet§ Trieste appears to be a normdl, peacétime city with public -sérvices functioning. However, long. queues stand for hours at food markets trying to get a share of the scanty food supply.

ASTRONOMER FINDS A NEW WHITE STAR

MINNEAPOLIS, June 14 (U. P). —Dr. William J, Luten, University of Minnesota astronomer, said today that with the help of an Argentine, he has found the faintest known star in the white species. Dr. Luten said it was situated in the constellation chameleon, near the south pole of the heavens. The star, 40,000 times less luminous than the sun, has to be magnified 10,000 umes to be seen*with the human eye.
