‘Private Party'— 465 Invitations
LOS ANGELES, June 7 (U, P.). Four hundred and sixty-five relatives of Gen. George S. Patton Jr., today accepted invitations to a “private” reception for the 3d army commander, who comes home Saturday with Lt. Gen. James H. Doolittle. Officials said the general's sister, Mrs. L. 8. Andrews of Glendale, Cal, threw their calculations for the party off a little when she submitted a list of 465 guests, The list of Doolittle relatives has not yet arrived.
The homecoming celebration,
being handled like a supercolossal Hollywood production, will in- " clude a parade, a civic reception, a demonstration at Memorial coliseum and the afternoon reception.

Underwater Kiss Painting Banned
HOLLYWOOD, June 7 (U, P.).— Artist John La Gatta told New York
today they. could see more “suggestive” scenes than his painting of an underwater kiss on any Sundayafternoon walk through the park.
The bathing suit manufacturer's car card advertisement showing an underwater kiss by two swimmers was ordered removed from New York subway cars because “just possibly there might be sométhing suggestive in the execution of the idea.” The Naples-born artist snorted at this. “The painting.” he said, “was inspired by Movie Actress Marjorie Reynolds and was intended merely to show a perfectly natural emotion on the part of a young boy ahd girl in love—perhaps, even, enjoying their first kiss.” He said it.was .the first time in his 30 years of painting and magazine illustrating he had been accused of having “the slightest hint of anything suggestive in any of
