COUNCIL TO WEIGH | CAB LICENSE AGAIN
. With another round in the. taxi: cab’ licensing battle scheduled for tonight's city ‘council meeting, Mrs. city- weights and measures inspector, announced today that inspection of taxicab meters will be “completed this week. She gave the following results after three weeks of test runs with cabs operated by the two largest companies, Red Cab and United. A total of 96 of 215 Red Cabs had correct. meters on the first test run Mrs. Hobson said. The balance required adjustment. United cabs registering accurate on-the first run numbered 29 of 34, she reported. Of the 306 licenses issued to taxicabs here during May, 260 were issued to Red Cab and 93 to United. It was understood that the 11th district. American Legion officials who have supported Mrs. Hobson's | drive to strengthen taxicab regula- | tions will appear at tonight's meet- | ing. They will demand passage of a long-delayed city ordinance or rejection with cause.
