Cancer Society Closes Drive
The annual state enlistment drive of the Field army of the American Cancer society closed today with a report luncheon held in the Claypool hotel Riley room. Collection of a total of $120,000 in the state was reported. This included $22,000 raised by the Marion county division. The funds will be used in educational apd research work, : Former Governor Schricker, chairman of the county group, introduced the speakers, They were John R. Dunlap of New York; William H. Ball, Muncie, state campaign chairman, and Dr. ¥. E. Padgett, chairman of the field army's executive committee. Mr, Ball, who was instrumental in obtaining contributions from corporate groups, reported on the state drive and Mr, Schricker on the county drive. Dr. Padgett’s talk covered state-wide activities of the organization. ’
