Considers Annexation Broad Ripple Area.

An annexation plan for outlying areas will be prepared by the city park department and presented soon. to the eity council, : This was agreed last night at a preliminary meeting between Paul] | Brown, city parks superintendent,| and members -of the council. The session was held to discuss proposed annexation of the territory adjacent to Broad Ripple park. For the last several months, the park board has been negotiating for the purchase of the park from Oscar Baur of Terre Haute. Recently a price of $131,250 was accepted by both parties. Brown Urges Purchase R. C. Dauss, a councilman, asserted’ he would like to have the adscent area annexed béfore the park Mr. Brown, however, exe belief the park should be purchased now, : Edward R. Kealing, council vice president, and Lucian B. Meriwether and A. Ross Manly, other councilmen, declared they were in favor of annexation. Persons living outside the city limits: should not enjoy city services without paying their share of the costs, in the opinion of Mr. Brown.
