' Bottled Beer Price Ceiling - To Have Little Effect Here

OPA's announced intention of] establishing uniform _ ceiling prices on bottled beer and “ale in’ various local communities will have little effect on the Indianapolis brew dispensing picture. This was the opinion given today by representatives of the state beer industry, retailers and OPA. TYNDALL PRAISES PYLE’S HUMAN TOUCH

Ernie” Pyle provided a “personal contact between fighting men on the front lines and their families on the home front,” Mayor Tyndall said today. “The announcement of War Correspondent Ernie Pyle's death will cause universal sorrow,” sald the mayor. “The Hoosier state particulatly will mourn his ‘loss because Ernie is a native son.’ “He placed himself in the danger zone so that he could actually report true conditions of men in the lines. His reporting, with its human touch, did more for the morale of the people at home, than did the

The OPA announcement did not specify whether a distinction will be made between iced and un-iced beer. Investigation of Prices

Kenneth Kunkel, chief of the district OPA beer and liquor divi sion, said his department would make a comprehensive investigation of current’ beer and ale prices and prevailing supply conditions before posting uniform ceilings here. Community dollars and = cents
