JANE JORDAN
Put your problems in a letter to Jane Jordan, who will answer your questions in this column daily.
DEAR JANE JORDAN—I read in your column that a sarcastic little hussy asked why there had to be mothers-in-law, Any son who ignores his dear mother is a no ac- ) She will be a mother-in-law some day and may have the same experience with a daughter-in-law herself. There must be good reasons why this dear mother idolizes her son. She would most likely feel the same toward this daughter-in-law if she were not so vulgar in her Judgment. She should take a little advice from some considerate daugh-in-law whom their husband's mothers just adore. Kindly publish this letter as it may give this army wife something to regret. « ‘CONSTANT READER.
” n ” Answer—I think the young army wife in question was wrong in her attitude and said so, yet I have no doubt that she had considerable
-provocation before she became so
hostile, -All mothers are not “dear” even to their children and some are less “dear” to the.girls their sons marry. The girl may have had a
great deal to contend with. Here Is a letter which may help her.
DEAR JANE JORDANZ-If this army wife really loved her husband she would be more kind and considerate to his mother. I do not believe in the word mother-in-law, I think it much nicer to say “my husband’s mother” or my “other mother.” If the army wife would put herhelf in her mother-in-law's place before she goes any farther, things would be different. CONSTANT READER. » . » Answer—This is a much kinder letter. JANE JORDAN.
