By MILDRED KOSCHMANN If you're in need of a good laugh | and want to see some fine acting right in your own home town, don't miss “You Can't Take It With You.” | The Civic theater's sixth productions this season is one of its best— one of the craziest ever presented. You'll never see another family like the Sycamores. Mamma Sycamore is a playwright, not because she has talent, but because someone left a typewriter at the house by mistake about eight years ago. | Papa Sycamore likes Erector sets and makes Fourth of July fireworks | the basement which go shooting! off all through the play.

Actress Jean Parker.
Band Leader Henry Busse and Movie Actress Jean Parker display their more than ordinary talents
Opening his show with the old favorite, “When Day Is Done” Busse leads his orghestra through
a program that is well rounded and entertaining. His handling of his trumpet also is: something that has delighted his fans for many years. Miss Parker's personal appear~ | ance act Is especially good, for she shows she can be as entertaining on stage as on screen. She seems aware also that an audience likes | more than a mere display of pul- | chritude. Her dramatic sKetches | “get over.”
Another newcomer is climbing up the ladder of Hollywood stars. “He's Marc Platt, a versatile dancer, who is seer - in “Tonight and Every Night” at Loew's, Snatched from theé* stage hit, “Oklahoma,” Platt is Rita. Hayworth's dancing partner in her new technicolor film. He makes a hit in his first solo appearance and also does a good job on the acting side. ‘Rita, always pretty in technicolor, stars-in the show with Janet Blair and Lee Bowman: She and Janet join a revue at the London music hall shortly before the war begins, Platt, through Rita, wins a place in the show. Then the war breaks out and Rita meets Tee Bowman during a blackout in an air raid shelter. After a few dates, they quarrel and part. Through Bowman's manipula- | tions, the troupe plays at his base but he is called to duty in the middle of the show. Before he goes,
