Burlesque in Frlish Bath— That's 'Good Night Ladies’

By MILDRED KOSCHMANN It's a crazy play with some outlandish situations but it draws laughs aplenty. That's “Good Night Ladies” at English’s. Burlesque fans especially will love | it even, though the acting is below the standard set by last yeal's Stuart Erwin and Skeets Gallagher, John - Hubbard cannot compete with Erwin’s painful, bashful and shocked facial expressions. In the role of Prof. John Matthews, a scholarly gentleman who has a phobia for scantily dressed females, Hubbard looks more like the playboy type. ~ On the other hand, he's quite a bit smoother than Erwin.

It Started at Age 13

The professor's allergy to ladies | began when he was 13 and saw | a female spider devour her mate. To cure his phobia, Mike Bonner | (Fred Sherman) takes him to a] night club which later on is raided.] { The two escape, dressed as ancient] | warriors, and seek ‘to hide out in a woman's Turkish bath. Here the fun begins. The deep] voiced “ladies” nearly burn their| faces up when they smear hair-re-moving cream on their chins. They experiment with the dimple-making machine and also get one of the] roughest massages you'll ever see. | ~ CONFIDENTIALLY ARE YOU A HAS-BEEN?

Your age may have nothing to do with] it! That lack of drive, that run-down] feeling which makes work a burden, and holds vou back from enjoying pleasurable activities with your family, may be Nature's warning signal that you lack cer-|
