OPA PENALIZES | 6 GROCERS HERE

Deficit, in * Ration Points| Causes Suspensions Up To 60 Days.

A number of Indianapolis grocers and others throughout the state have overdrawn their bank accounts of ration points, the Indianapolis district OPA Indicated today. In a drive to bring these offenders to task, the OPA yesterday suspended six local grocers for periods ranging to two months from buying or selling rationed articles in the operation of their businesses. It was the second time suspensions -had been ordered for two of the grocers, Louis Elkovitz, operator of the Elkovitz market, 1305 N. Capitol ave, and Leon Frisch, operator of Leon's super market, 111 E. 49th st.

Sharp Warning Given

Elkovits was given a 60-day suspension on processed foods, sugar and meats by Dennis Dunlavy, regional OPA hearing commissioner. The latter also warned the defendant he might expect harsh treatment if again found guilty. Frisch received a 30-day suspension on meats and fats. Others suspended were 8. J. West st, 30-day suspension on processed foods and sugar, the last 20 on probation, and Harold Lambert, operator of Lambert's market, 418 N.
