She received a silver plaque and $750 in war bonds. Third place winner was Emily Wilkens, designer for the Young | Originals firm. A leader in the teen-age fashion field, she was given a silver plaque and $500 in war bonds. Examples of fhe three designers’ work were shown before the 1000 luncheon guests. The climax of the show was the Adrian collection, flown from California, where most of it has not yét been shown to buyers or clients. The 30 Adrian models included a number of variaiions on his celebrated suit theme, several of them marked by contrasting inserts of fabric.
