JANE JORDAN

DEAR JANE JORDAN—I've been married 13 years and have a sqn of 12. I was 18 and my husband 19 when we married. For the first year I was very happy. Then my, husband joined a union and started running around with a fast crowd, coming home tight at 3 in the morning. My dad talked him into moving on his farm to work for him. He stopped drinking and running around but I was just someone to have the house clean and meals ready. He never gave|work to buy my = === mes me any money 50 I did part time|clothes. Little by 3 little I stopped caring * for him. I've had a nervpus bredkdown and two major operations ‘in the last two years and just having him around makes me so nerveus I could die. When he real- Jane Jordan ized I had stopped loving him he began to beg me to forgive and forget. I've tried, but 16 months ago I fell in love with a man 15 years my senior who worked in the war plant with me. He divorced his wife because she was a drunkard and ran around. I've asked my husband for a divorce but he refuses. He joined the merchant marine saying I would change my| mind about him. That was six "months ago and I haven't changed. He knew I had to have the last operation before he joined up but if it hadn't been for the man I lov I don’t know what I would have done. ‘He takes me to the doctor twice a week and sees that my bills are paid. He just can’t do enough for me and never asks anything in return. - My parents have had my son on the farm for three years and he is crazy about it and has more pthan I ever could give him. DISCOURAGED. » » » Answer—Things have gone too far to make a reconciliation between you and ‘your husband possible. When he returns to find that another man has been paying your bills, IT don't think he'll want you back, even though the fact that you were penniless was his own fault You have grounds for divorce if he failed to support you while you were ill, but now he also has a|[}® legitimate complaint against you || JANE JORDAN
