The second of & series of garden meetings was held today in the Purdue university center, 902 N. Meridian st. W. B. Ward, home gardens specialist, Purdue horticultural department, and A. A. Irwin of the county extension office were in charge of the meeting. The series, which will close on Feb, 14, will be followed by another group of meetings on the home preservation of garden vegetables. “It will be more important than ever before that people who have facilities for gardening put out small gardens in 1845,” H. E. Abbott, Marion county agricultural agent, said. “Home gardening of Marion county during the last two years has produced millions in point value in fresh vegetables and garden

Asked to Join In Juvenile Aid

The 7th district, Indiana Federation of Clubs, has been asked to join ina program aiding children in the recently opened county juvenile center at 25th st. and Keystone ave. The request came in a letter from Judge Mark W. Rhoads of juvenile court to Mrs. Clayton H. Ridge, district president. Heat shortening, add onion and saute until soft and very light brown. Blend in flour, add liquid and stir until the mixture bolls and thickens. Add salt, pepper,

| sugar and mustard; stir to blend.

Toss together lightly the picalilli, cooked macaroni and the boned, flaked fish. Add hot vinegar dressing and mix lightly. Serve at once. Serves 4 to 5. » s s Sally Lunn:. Cream 2 tbsps. margarine, add 3 thsps. sugar and then cream thoroughly. Add 1 egg yolk and beat well, Sift 1 c. sifted allpurpose flour with 2 tsps. baking powder and % tsp. salt. Add the flour mixture and % c. milk alternately, beginning apd ending with the flour. Beat well and pour into a greased 9x9-inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees F. for .5 mins. Sprinkle 14 ¢. cubed cranberry jelly over the top of the batter and continue baking another 15 mins. or until it is golden brown. Serve Immediately or while still warm.
