|” Baby's s Death Brings Clargs of Neglect A Adin Petrents
A Ravenswood couple whose baby house “littered six. inches deep”
already has died from exposure and undernourishment and whose five other children are living in filth will appear in court Saturday on charges of child neglect. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Glenn Biehl, 7236 Fitch ave. were arrested yesterday. Deputy Sheriffs Virgil Quinn and Lonnie Grimes reported they ghad never seen human beings living “in such dirt and filth.”
Mother Discovers Death
Mrs. Biehl, who is 26, told Dr. Robert Dilts, deputy coroner, that she found-the baby dead in his crib when she awakened yesterday. She called her husband, a 43-year-old mechanic at the Indiana Motor Bus Co. Mr, Biehl then called the sheriff’s office. Dr, Dilts said the 7-months-old child, Homer Glenn Biehl Jr., died from pneumonia caused from undernourishment and exposure. No attempt had been made to call a doctor when the baby “seemed sick” for several days and did not eat all day Tuesday, he said.

The two other children were found at the home of a-neighbor. All of them, ranging in age from|. 15 months to 9 years, were thinly clad and dirty, ill and infested with vermin. Marion county juvenile authorities immediately investigated. The chilrden were taken to City hospital where they will be given a complete medical checkup and warm, nourishing food,
