Urges Draft Call

For Entertainers |

WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 (U.P. —Rep, Donald L. O'Toole (D. N. Y.) today called for a drafting of all “4-F actors, bandleaders and other professional entertainers” and suggested that they be assigned to entertainment units “which could be moved fron battle front to battle front wherever morale was low.” O'Toole in a letter to War Mobilization Director James F. Byrnes said that the “morale of G. I. Joe would be greatly raised if he saw these nationally known . entertainers serving in khaki or blue.” He' heartily indorsed Byrnes’ recent directive calling for a review of the draft status of professional athletes. These men, too, he said, could be placed in special uints for the entertainment of the soldiers.
