In “To Have and Have Not,” the cinematic outcome of it all, 20-year-old Lauren emerged as the movie discovery of 1944. Nicela is a member of the. French Forces of the Interior, a young woman who risked life for liberty, who hunted Nazis through the flelds and towns of France and led an American patrol to one of their machine-gun nests on D-day, Lady, the only female member of the first war dog tactical unit operating in the Southwest Pacific’ died last fall in the service of her country. A Belgian shepherd owned by John Marcario of Minersville, Pa., she went ashore with the first wave of raiders at Cape Gloucester. In absentia, Nicola’s Mlle. merit award was received for her by Mrs. Isabel Jones of the French press and information service. It will be forwarded to her in Paris. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Highfill, 1846 Olive st., and Mr, Koesters' mother is Mrs. Catherine Koesters, 314 Parkway ave. A white satin gown fashioned with a marquisette yoke, long sleeves, fitted bodice and a long train was worn by the bride. Her fingertip ‘veil fell from a .silver sequin cap and she carried a bouquet of red roses and snow chyrsanthemums.

Miss Theresa Koesters, the bridegrcom's sister, was the maid of honor. She was in pink made with a. satin brocade “bodice and sheer skirt and wore a pink net calot. She carried’ pink snapdragons, deep pink roses and white pompons. The bridesmaids were Miss Loraine Ward, Shelbyville, and Miss Jeanette. Riggle. They chose blue dresses like the maid of honor’s and wore matching calots. Their bouquets were of yellow snapdragons and roses.
