an Church Had Been Ill * For Six Weeks.
“The Rev. Roland Emmanuel Scaer, pastor of the Emmaus
Lutheran church since Sept. 1,
1043, died today at his home, 1224 + Laurel st. He had been il} for six weeks. He was 48. The Rev. Scaer was born in Convoy, O., and was graduated from Concordia Theological seminary, Springfield, Ill. He was a pastor : at Greensboro, N. Rev. Seaer or 13 years prior to coming to Indianapolis. ‘Before that he served missions in Louisiana and Michigan. He married Cornelia Epting of Jackson, Miss, in 1926, Survivors besides the wife include a son, Carl; a daughter, Alicia; his father, Jacob Scaer, Convoy, O.; two brothers, Hugo of Convoy, O., and Otto, Van Wert, O., and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Etzler, Convoy, O; Mrs, Fred Wild, Van Wert, O., and Mrs. Louis Marcotte, Birmingham, Mich. The body will be at the church {from 10 a. m. to 2:30 p. m. Monday. Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Monday with burial at Concordia.
