Orange cake: Two and one-half c. eake flour, % tsp. salt % tsp. baking soda, 2 tsps. baking powder, % c. shortening, 1% ec. sugar, 4 eggs (4 egg yolks in cake. 3 egg whites in cake, reserve 1 egg white for frosting), % tsp. grated orange rind, & ec. orange juice. Sift flour and measure, then sift three times with salt, baking soda and baking powder. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and beat until light and fluffy.
