By MRS. WALTER FERGUSON Seripps-Howard Staft Writer MRS. OLIVE CLAPPER, the still
points she emphasizes to her audiences is that she is clay of Raymond Clapper’s shaping. “My opinions and knowledge have come from him,” she explains, which sounds sweet these days when mars ried women with careers like to take all the credit for their success. One knows, however, that here is a case where the wife also contributed to a husband's greatness, for in a real marriage. this exchange of benefits is natural and inevitable. To Consider Lawmaking
The members of the Indiana Federation of Clubs are urged to consider laws which may come before the Indiana general assembly opening next month, The I. F. C. legislative chajrman, Mrs. Maurice B. Eppert, has issued a ‘bulletin explaining the federation's views. “It must be understood the I. PF. C. does not mean to act as a critic to the state lawmakers, nor try to hinder passage of necessary laws, As an organization and as jndividual members, wholesome interest and support will be given to laws bringing benefit and progress to the state,” Mrs.. Eppert. pointed out. “Interest will be continued by the group in laws governing child welfare, youth conservation, good education, health and safety. . . “Among several measures passed by the last legislative session were the merit system and schodl attendance laws. Because of wartime conditions, technical errors, etc, these laws were unable to funétion well. With proper amendments in the future, it.is hoped. these two important laws wiil function,” she continued. She - also ‘stated ‘that ‘the group has great interest in conservation {of natural resources. According to {the bulletin, stronger measures |against. stream pollution will be supported and the preservation of water levels urged. “Laws which will ve given the 1. F.
