Pub your problems fn 8 letter to Jane whe will answer questions in this eolumn daily.

DEAR JANE JORDAN—I have been going with a serviceman for

three years and since April we have been -engaged. His parents will not give their consent to our marriage. I see very little of his mother although I live near her. She believes that I am untrue to her son. I am not. She writes him that my time is taken up by others who are more important and that it hurts her deeply. I work and am tired when I get home and usually retire early. Do you think I am unfair in not spending all my time in company where I am not wanted? She believes that I should allow her to read my mail from him. I don’t. It would only make her jealous to learn how he longs for me. Is there any way to make -her my friend? I love her deeply and I am miserable In this state of affairs. GINGER.

Answer: Ginger, I rather doubt your statement that you love your flance’s mother deeply. If you did you would show it, and perhaps she would melt. Not that I think you should show her your letters, But she evidently is a woman who demands attention, and if you want to get along with her you will have to give it to her. It is quite possible for a man’s mother and his wife to join each other in their love of him instead of . contending for his affections. Try to express some

of that love which you claim to
