First Lt. Hobert D. Simpson Jr, local musician, was killed in a plane crash Friday near Bakersfield, Cal. Lt. Stimson, son of Mr, and Mrs. Hobert D. Simpson Sr. 1420 W. 36th st., was pilbting a C-60 army air forces training plane which crashed into the side of a mountain, : . He was in the army ground forces before transferring to the air forces, Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Geneva Knipe, 3741 Schofield ave, and a brother, Hubert, stationed with®the navy on the West coast, Lt. Simpson's wife, mother. and daughter will arrive in Indianapolis from Téxas tonight. y » n .
