Dogs Are Poisoned—
HOME TOWN dog lovers have been guarding their pets carefully following news stories of the activities of dog poisoners at nearby Carmel and also at Knightstown and New Castle. . . . Mrs. Henry F. Schricker, wife of the retiring governor, couldn't remember her address when she called police the other night to report a drunken man on the front porch of the governor's mansion. J, . Asked for the address, she replied: “well, I don't know, but it's right behind the Marott hotel” . . . Police niibbed the intruder. . . . They also nabbed a 24-year-old war plant employee alleged to have grabbed $500 in cash from the money drawer of the Speedway City postoffice when the clerk’s back was turned. . , . Also arrested was a parking lot employee who is accused of stealing a $2000 fing from the car of Carol Kreusser and selling it in a tavern for a few dollars. . . . Benefit Concert
Bomar Cramer, pianist, will play at the English theater at 3:30 p. m. tomorrow under the auspices of the Indianapolis Piano Teachers association. Proceeds from the benefit performance will: be given to nearby camp hospitals for wounded soldiers.

A cast of 24 will stage “The Night of Jan. 16th” in the rhain ballroom of the Athenaeum at 8:30 p. m. today. The play, directed by Normann Green, has two different endings, depending upon the decision of the jury. In the cast will be Mrs. Emily Barton, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Githens, Mr. Green, Richard Eisenbach, Conrad Grathwohl, Clare Falkner, Ford Kaufman, Jack Messmer, Robert Calland, Tom McCoy, Monroe Hosford, Walter Messmer, Lena Peters, Olga Birk, Harry Bobbe, Harold Peters, Leslie e, Miss Edna Phinney, Don Hastings and Miss Betty Ann Perkins. A dance to the music of Ted Campbell's orchestra will follow the play. ‘
BOND DRIVE CREDIT GIVEN TO THEATER
Sixth war loan bond purchases totaling $75,000 have been credited to the local Indianapolis quota of Loew's theater and the Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer film exchange, Boyd Sparrow, manager of Loew's theater here, announced. This represents a proportionate part of a $10,000,000 bond subscription by Loew's, Inc. The total is divided among the cities in which there are Loew's theaters and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer offices.
