. » Baked Apple Salad: 4 large tart apples (Jonathan), % ec. sugar, 2 tbsps. butter or margarine, % c. water, 3 oz. cream cheese, 2 tsps. lemon juice, 4 c, chopped celery, 1 tsp. sugar, Wash and core apples. Place a tbsp. sugar in each apple. Dot with butter or , margarine. Place in shallow baking pan and add water to cover bottom. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 40 to 50 mins, until done. Chill thoroughly. Soften and whip cream cheese with fork, Add lemon juice, celery and sugar and pile lightly into chilled apples. Serve on leaf of Romaine with watercress for garnish,

The Rt. Rev. Richard A. Kirchhoffer spoke today at the quarterly meeting of the executive board, House of Churchwomen, Diocese of Indianapolis, held in St. Paul's Episcopal church, Holy communion was observed this morning followed by a busi-
ness session and luncheon served by St. Ann's guild. Plans for forwarding the work of women in the diocese were discussed at the meeting. Reports were given on district meetings held last month and the .provincial meeting of the Woman's auxiliary, fifth rovince, Episcopal church, held reently in Peoria, Ill, The session was the first attended by presidents of the four districts recently elected under the new constitution of the House of Churchwomen. The presidents and their districts {are Mrs. Lynn Miller, Lafayette, 1; Mrs, Overton Sacksteder, Elwood, 2; Mrs. Roscoe Haymond, Columbus, 3, and Mrs. J. H. Hefele, Evansville, 4.
