Each year with the approach of the holiday season, the words of the “animal song’ take on reality as the Riley Cheer guild begins rounding up gifts for the young patients at
the hospital. This year the parade of stuffed animals and dolls (“seft” toys are the favored type for bedridden youngsters) will be augmented by 50 that took shape under the busy fingers of Mrs, Martin Weile. Striped rabbits, green giraffes and printed pigs made of gay calicoes, ginghams and other fabrics, plus blond, brunet and redheaded dolls, are ready to captivate the hearts of the children at the hospital as a result of her work which began three months ago. : n n » IT WAS THEN, following the death of her brother, Cpl. Chris Btickan, in the European area, that Mrs. Weile turned to the toy-making project. It became an activity that not only will bring happiness to the children in the hospital, but also served in helping to assuage Mrs, Weile's grief over her brothers death, Her home on became a “branch” of St.

Civic Theater Goers Named
SEVERAL PARTIES HAVE been planned tonight before and after the Civic theater production of “The Little Foxes.” This evening's performance is being sponsored by the Indianapolis Alumnae club of Pi Beta Phi sorority for the benefit of the organization’s settlement school at Gatlinburg, Tenn, and physiotherapy scholarships. Art Museum To Exhibit Baking Work
*-An - exhibit of work done by, Thomas Eakins will be held Sunday/| through Dec. 24 in the John Herron Art museum, The display was assembled last year by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in honor of]
the Eakins Centennial, Twenty-eight oils, one water color, two charcoal sketches and two
group. Some of the oils are preliminary sketches for canvases too large to be moved from their permanent homes. The 19th century naturalistic movement, represented in France by Gustave Coubet has as its American, figures Eakins and Winslow Homer. Revolting against mid-century romanticism, they pictured the America of their day, becoming pioneers of a leading trend in contemporary art. Eakins painted outdoor scenes, domestic genre, landscape and his two famous clinic compositions in his early years. His work was neglected by society, however, and when he was middle aged he changed to portraiture,
