It is proposed that.the plan will become operative on Jan. 1, 1946, and that the normal age for retirement shall be 65 years, with compulsory retirement at 70 if the individual has worked 15 years for the state.

Excluded from participation in the retirement system would be members of the state legislature, elected officials and members of part-time boards. ‘The amount of retirement pay drawn would depend upon the length of service and of an {individual.
