An anniversary celebration is a highlight of sorority activities. The 41st anniversary il Mu Phi Epsilon, professional m soror=ity, will be celebrated tonight at a 6:30 o'clock dinner in the Marott hotel. Prune Meringues: Cut 8 large cooked, drained prunes in halves and remove pits. Stuff with 4 tsps. finely chopped nuts and put halves together again, Add % tsp. salt to 2 egg whites and beat until barely stiff, Add 3 c. sugar gradually and a few drops of almond extract if desired. Beat until stiff. Place prunes on greased baking sheet; cover each separately with meringue. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 12 to 15 mins, until delicately browned. Prepare a plain vanilla soft custard, using 2 egg yolks, 2 c¢. milk, % c. sugar, % tsp. salt and 1 tsp. vanilla, Serve over meringue or with meringue on top in floating island style,

- » . » Crunchy Cereal Crisps: % ec. sifted flour, % tsp. soda, % tsp. salt, % ec. shortening, % c. brown sugar, % c. white ~sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla, % tsp. hot water, 2 ¢. puffed cereal (crisp). 4 Bift together flour, soda and salt three times. Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Add flour, stir until well blended; add water. Mix in cereal quickly and thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet, Bake at 375 degrees F. for 9 mins. Cool on cake rack, Makes about 50 cookies,
