State Group to Draw Up Its Program for 1945 Assembly.
The Indiana council on crime’ands delinquency will formulate its legislative program for the 1945 general assembly at a business. meeting] Wednesday in the Claypool hotel. | Two committees appointed at the| meeting last year will make recom- | mendations to. the council. The| committee on juvenile delinquency 1s made up of Dr. E. W, Dill, chairman; Wilfred 8. Bradshaw and Mark C. Roser, and members of the committee on adult delinquency are Dr. James H. Peeling, chairman; Floyd Hemmer and Norman Isaacs. A slate of recommendations preps for submission to directors includes council sponsorship of several changes in court rulings affecting juveniles. Included in the committee report are the following proposals. That the council appoint & committee to mobilize civic and other groups to support the juvenile court laws and protect it against legislative attacks;

That the council appoint a committee to co-operate with the coun= ty directors association to improve provisions governing the admittance of children in juvenile institutions to Riley hospital; That the council appoint a committee to study and take suitable .mction -with respect to proposals for centralizing the control and administration of state institutions; That the council develop and promote a legislativel proposal to transfer the powers and duties of the state probation commission to the state department of public welfare and to transfer the responsibility _for local probation service to the county department of public welfare, That the council promote a pro- . posal for establishment of an official commission to study and recommend revision of the of the crim-
