With the road smooth for Illinois and Ohio State, there doesn't appear to be a team to challenge their supremacy unless wily Bo McMillin can whip his Indiana Hoosiers into championship fettle for a stretch drive.

However, so far this year none of the sporting goods stores have had any difficulty in over-loaded shelves breaking under the strain of unwanted shells. All in all it looks good for the Hoosiers who are willing to get up in the middie of the night and * crawl through icy water and curl in a blind until the Canadian visitors come quacking their arrival. VICTORY
OFFICIAL U.S. NAVY PHOTOGRAPI
TOMORROW, FRIDAY, IS NAVY DAY!
And there is tcarcely a Day of Observance — that goes so deeply to the Hoosier heart — as does the day set aside in recognition — and honor — of the Navy!
“mT 18 indeed singular," as
many a speaker is wont to say — in prefacing an oratorical flight — "it is indeed singular” that Indiana, land-lubber state that it is — (with its Capital the largest inland city in the world) — would have such intense interest — and such outstanding participation in’ Naval activities.
Right here in Town is a Naval Armory — whose architectural facilities and Naval efficiency — produce a notable training: station. There is a great Naval Air Station at Bunker Hill, Indiana — And at Burns ash Indiana, is the Navy's largest “ Ammunition Depot. :
Indiana — is giving inspiring quotas
of Naval enlistments.
.
(And the Navy is doing some glorious
- celebrating in its own right—in the
Philippine campaign — in the broad reaches of the Pacific and Atlantic— in ‘the seven seas — and in the Air!)
And though 19th or 20th in population — Indiana leads all states (at times) in total WAVE enlistments — And for the past year in no month has it failed to be among the first three!
Admiral Roy E. Ingersoll comes from La Porte, Indiana — that hasn't a creek!
And Guest Speaker at the Navy Luncheon (at the Athletic Club) = is Vice-Admiral Jonas Ingram, U. S. N, — Commander of the South Atlantic Fleet — he comes from Jeffersonville, Indiana!
Naturally our Hoosier pride Joins with that of the Nation— (and the United
~Natiens)—in a Salute to the Navy—
in recognition for its irresistible might and power in re-establishing peace on earth—to maintain it— through the decades ahead.
