William L. Hutcheson, president
penters and Joiners of America (A. F. of L.), said today in an editorial scheduled to be released in a union
Hillman and the C. I. O.-Political Action Committee were “fouling la~ ber’s political nest.” Mr. Hutcheson's editorial, slated to appear on the front page of the labor union newspaper, official publication of the Dayton, O., central labor ‘union, charged that labor might find itself fighting for its very existence as a result of “bitterness and enmities which Hillman and company have aroused in this campaign.” : The union president added that the displacement of labor during the reconversion period “will shake every trade union to its foundations.” “The labor baiters will reappear in every community crying for a smashing of the war - swollen unions,” Mr. Hutcheson wrote. “In such a situation organized labor will need sympathetic legislators in both parties. On the threshold of such a labor crisis, .what Mr. Hillman and his P. A. C. are doing-today is simply. to foul labor's Paitucal rest.”
