Symphony Concert Numbers Listed
* Brahm's Third symphony, Respighi’s “Pines of Rome,” the “Lisola Disabitata” overture by. Haydn and “The Plow that Broke the Plains” by Virgil Thomson, will be on the opening program of the Symphony orchestra, Fabien Sevitzky, conductor, announced today. Mr. Thomson, who is music critic of the New York Herald Tribune, will speak before members of the women's committee of the Indiana State Symphony society and their guests in the auditorfum of the william H. Block Co. Oct. 28, Tickets for the opening concerts, Oct. 28 and 29, are still available at the Murat theater or in the record department of H. P, Wasson & Co. _
REPUBLICANS PLAN GREGG FARM RALLY
Over 300 students are expected to attend the rally given by the Young Republican club at Butler university Friday night at the Gregg farm. Among the speakers are Thomas B. Potter, state chairman of the Young Republicans; State Senator James E. Armstrong of Springville; Henry Ostrom, Marion county Republican chairman, and Edward I. Fillenworth, local attorney.

The Dramatic club of the Athenaeum Turners will begin a series of theatrical forums tonight,
‘Dr, Carl B. Sputh, president of}
the Turners, announced. ; Jack Hatfiéld, director of the Civic theater, will address the group tonight on “The Function of a Civic Theaver” in the small auditorium of the Athenaeum. Sharing honors with Hatfield is Fred Winter, head of the faculty of the American Radio academy and director of the Nashville Players, who will talk on “The Spoken Word in Radio and Television.” The next of the series will be Nov. 15 when the club will hear a lecture by C. Norman Green, Dramatic club director, who will speak on “The Theater in Your Life.” Norbert Silbiger, director of the Richmond Civic theater, will speak at the meeting Dec. 6. He is a former associate of Max Reinhardt. The Turners are now rehearsing for “Three Men on a Horse,” which will be produced in December. Other plays scheduled this year are “Small Miracle” and ‘On the Night of January 16th.”
