Lt. John C. Walker, Joanne Mumford Wed in Presbyterian Church Ceremony
+ AN ALTAR BANKING OF PALMS, ivory candles and plaques of huckleberry and yellow chrysanthemums formed the setting for the marriage of Miss Joanne ‘Louise Mumford and Lt. John Compton Walker yesterday afternoon in the Meridian Heights Presbyterian h. ~The ceremony was read at 4:30 o'clock by Dr. Alexpder Sharp. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. MarE a Lewis Mumford and Rufus W. Mumford, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Urquhart
Walker, Oak Hill, Cleveland. Escorted by her father, the bride was gowned - in pale ivory Quchess satin fashioned with a basque waist, a shoulder yoke of mousseline de sole outlined with petit point embroidery which extended into the fitted sleeves and a gathered skirt falling into a n. a tiered veil of ivory English illusion was attached to a shirred tulle half-hat edged with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white orchids -including spray orchids.
Bride's Sisters Are Attendants
THE ATTENDANTS CHOSE SIMILAR gowns of satin brocade styled with scalloped romance necklines, fitted basques, three-quar= ter length sleeves and bouffant skirts. Mrs. James J. Lamb, her sister's matron of honor; Miss Jean Reese, Brazil, and Miss Bar- * pata Mumford, bridesmaids, were in frosted leaf green and the latter two carried pale yellow chrysanthemum petals while the matron of honor had bronze and rust petals. Miss Lois Mumford and Miss Peggy Trusler, bridesmaids, were in pompom yellow and they had bouquets of gold chrysanthemum petals. All wore headbands of flowers matching their bouquets. Amanda Lu Lamb, the bride's niece, was flower girl. ‘Her dress was of frosted leaf green satin and she carried a basket of rysanthemum petals. Mr. Walker was his son's best man and the ushers were Mr. : Lamb and Rufus W. Mumford Jr. Mrs. Mumford’s gown was of * fuchsia crepe with sequin accents and she wore a matching hat and a corsage of orchids. The bridegroom’s mother chose a lime “green crepe dress, brown accessories and brown and green orchids,
* Reception Held in Columbia Club
MRS. HARRY B. McNEELY was the organist accompanying Mrs. N. J. Thalleen. Miss Mary Qatherine Stair played the harp at the reception in the Columbia club which followed the wedding. Following the reception, the couple left for French Lick. For traveling, the bride chose a two-piece beige gabardine suit worn with brown accessories, a mink scarf and brown orchids. The couple will be at home in Lemoore, Cal, where the bridegroom is to be stationed with the army air forces. The bride was graduated from Penn Hall school, Chambersburg, Pa., and Indiana university where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma soror- ~ Jty. Mr. Walker is a graduate of Mercersburg academy in Pennsylvania and atttended Princeton university. He was a member of the Brion Triangle club anf Cap and Gown club.

Region three will hold its conference next Thursday in Logansport and region four will meet Oct.! 17 in Huntington. A conference; will be held by region five in Bloomington, Oct. 23. Districts A and B of region six will meet Oct. 25 in Princeton while districts C and D of the region will hold their conference Nov. 1 in Jeffersonville.

A late flower show will be given Monday by the Municipal Gardens Woman's Department club in the clubhouse.
