Skating Clubs Plan Gay Rink Season At Coliseum Beginning Next Month

OCTOBER WILL BRING THE SWISH OF BLADES over the ice at the Coliseum rink when the local skating clubs open their seasons. : Edward A. Peterson, president of the Winter Club of Indianapolis, which is affiliated with the U. 8. Figure Skating association, has announced the activities of the group. ’ The members will skate from 5:30 until 7:30 p. m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 11:30 a m. to 1:30 p. m. on Sundays, The club anticipates a successful season as several of the members attended the summer sessions at the Hiawatha club in Sault Ste. Marie and the Figure Skating club at Minneapolis. » The Winter club competed in dancing and figure skating tests with these groups. The other officers are James H. Several of the members recently returned from Lake © Placid in New York where they practiced for the winter events. : The Gay Blades Skating club, sponsored by the Indiana Vassar club for the benefit of its scholarship fund, will begin skating Oct. 5, Its schedule includes the hours of 5:30 to 7:30 p. m. on Thursdays and some meetings on Tuesdays at the same time, Miss Margaret - B. Pierson, Vassar club president, is in charge. ‘Sunday, Oct. 15, from 5:30 until 7:30 p. m., the Ice Crackers club will bégin skating and will continue each Sunday through the winter. The club is sponsored by the auxiliary to the children’s bureau of the Indianapolis Orphan home, of which Mrs, Silas Reagan is president. - _ Business Skating Clubs Set Rink Time ; TEEN-AGERS ARE MEMBERS of the Ice Crackers and the committee in charge includes Mesdames Raymond M. Rice, Hanly Blackburn, and Edwin Gable and Miss Kathryn Hadley. Charles E. Herin and Eugene Howard are president and treasurer, respectively, of the Insurance and Bankers skating group. The club will skate from 5:30 to 7:30 p. m, on Tuesdays. The Allison Ice club is planning three parties this season and + will begin skating Oct. 2. The members will skate from 8:30 to 10:30 p. m. every Sunday. The president is J. T. Wills, and Octave ‘ Gatenby is secretary-treasurer, Miss Mary Ernsberger is chairman of the Eli Lilly Ice Skating club which is to meet from 5:45 until 7:45 p. m. on Mondays at the coliseum. Another business firm which has rink time is the P. R. Mallory & Co. Beginning Oct, 27, they will meet from 11 p. m; until 1 a. m. each Friday. :
