Popular Front Marchers Fill Wrecked Sofia

By LEON KAY United Press Staff Correspondent SOFIA, Sept. 11 (Delayed) — The bombardment of Sofia was estimated today to have caused $25,000,000 damage to the Bulgarian capital. The extent of the destruction is almost unbelievable. - Hardly one shop in every three blocks is able to function and there is only one hotel partially intact in the city. _ Huge piles of debris are scattered throughout Sofla, amid the gutted ruins of homes and buildings. But despite the destruction, crowds of people continued the popular front demonstrations, marching and joy-riding on army trucks and tanks, bearing the hammer and sickle. Partisans mingled with the soldiers who patrolled the streets with red carnations stuck in the muzzles of their rifles and tommyguns.
