Cincinnati Loses Fisher Body Plant; But Indianapolis Won't Get It Either!
A REPORT THAT A FISHER BODY PLANT might * be located in Indianapolis turned out today to be a phony, on
pokesmen.
The report started after General Motors finally decided
not to build a new body plant at Cincinnati, a hornet’s nest of opposition there from people who liy ed
in the area where the factory was to be built.
The major reason for not locat-| ' §ng another G. M. plant here is
son plants in Speedway and the governs ment-owned Al-
plant near Maywood, south Speedway,
the Chevrolet Commercial Body plant,
Mators. is. by far the biggest employer in town. Inasmuch as the corporation pursuing a policy of decentraliza- | ficn, of scattering its plants in-| stead of keeping them in just one
is
grea, it wouldn't be likely to build “more here at this time. Another reason is that a body!
plant should be located near an
assembly line here or anywhere else in the state, Speaking of rumors, story concerns the Fisher Brothers, |
the latest
own again. There have been hundreds of rumors of what the wealthy broth- | ers were poing to do. Today, a fellow told me he knows. The Fishers, ! he says, are going to build a huge hotel inn Detroit to house all those fumors.

Wally Crane Gets Laughs Show at Circle Features
Spivak Orchestra.
The stage show which opened yesterday at the Circle theater featuring Charlie Spivak’'s orchestra includes a pleasant assortment of other performers. : Wally Crane is still in. there pitching to retain his sobriquet, the “International Screwball,” and he does nobly. His act has neither
a good share of the laughs. Crane gets around the stage with all the aplomb of a chap who is perfectly satisfied to be classed as an eccentric. He coaxes laughs from an audience with the skill of a politician getting out the vote. Irene Daye and Jimmy--Saunders sing with the band and Joe, Lou and Marilyn Gates do a dance routine! | Spivak claims to play the sweetest trumpet in the world but he bounces a few notes off the ceiling while playing the Irish lullaby from “Going My Way” that would rouse the most hardened bog-trotter. “Henry Aldrich's Little Secret” is Hollywood's. contribution to the goings on at the Circle.
