‘Miss Nancy Bain Rawlings, an honor graduate of Shortridge high school, died today at Methodist pital after an illness of eight
months. She was 18. She lived at 8351 N. New Jersey with her mother, Mrs. Blanche Rawlings, a teacher at Shortridge igh school, and her brother, John. Miss Rawlings attended grade _ gchools No, “84 and 60 and ‘was ‘gradmated from Shortridge this : . She was active in school ‘organizations including the Echo, the Baton club, the Annual staff and S. P. Q. R. She received three ‘scholarships upon graduating: the Indiana university competitive scholarship, the Shortridge Foundation award and a part of the ‘Pratt-Brayton award. Services will be at 2 p. m. tomortow in the ‘Flanner & Buchanan | mortuary followed by burial at "Martinsville. The Rev. E. Burdette \ Backus, pastor of the All Souls : Unitarian church, will conduct the services.

Mrs. Meade Surviving are the husband: two stepdaughters, Mrs. Effie Gilliland and Mrs. Lena Moore, Beech Grove; two sisters, Mrs, Barbara Niedenthal and Mrs. Mary Kriech, and two brothers, Henry and Michael Kuchler.

Roy Steele, a painter, died today at his home, 240 Blake st. He was 52 and had lived in Indianapolis since 1927.
