In Jon Hall Case
HOLLYWOOD, Sept: 6 (U. P.).— The Los Angeles county grand jury today expressed an interest in how screen hero Jon Hall got the end nearly whacked off his nose in the
early last morith and promised an immediate investigation. The grand jury said it wanted to find out how Hall got his nose cut on a flower pot, as Dorsey con-
tended, and why the genial gentleman of swing got so mad he attempted to dump” Hall over his balcony railing. Dorsey said the battle started when Hall returned to his apartment for a purse belonging to Jane Churchill, which the singer mislaid when she left a party at the bandleader's home. Hall, Dorsey said, patted his wife, the beauteous Pat Dane, and that touched off the brawl. From there on, according to the principals, things happened so rapidly that it was impossible for them to keep abreast of developments. Hall said he was jumped by some-
bottle and nearly lost the end of nis nose. Dorsey insisted that he must have injured it on a ‘geranium pot.
