NEA Staff Writer ’ WABHINGTON, Aug. 81.~Looks as if the homefolks will have to eat their way out of the war. A national campaign will start in September to get you to eat fish twice a week, and there will be a bounty of utility beef for the other five days, : The office of co-ordinator of fisheries announced huge holdings of
frozen fish as of July 1, amounting to double last year's stocks, and
invited everyone to eat up. Response has been small. With hig catches expected during late summer and fall months, the situation has reached . the point where something must
be done to clear
storage room. Mackflerel, cod, haddock are abundant, as less familiar types. Experts are not sure where all the fish came from, but 16 per cent Ann Stevick larger New England catches have eased shortages in retail stores. Plentiful unrationed meat and poultry are partly responsible for fish surplus, . Foreign policy may get mixed up in your cookery. A change of policy toward Spanish imports will bring new supplies of olive oil into the country, If Argentine troubles come to a crisis, there may be a shut-off of food supplies from there, which would mean domestic supplies of beef, corn, cheese would have to go farther in the international divvy. Odds and Ends Lumber will be hard to get for the next few months at least, with stocks at the lowest point since December, 1941. . , . Al though food rationing is expected to dwindle off generally from now on, butter points may have to go up during coming scarcity seasons. . . . The war food adminis-
