Buckner-Locke Ceremony to Be Read In the. First Congregational Church
AN ALTAR BANKING OF. PALMS, CANDELABRA and yellow and white flowers will form the setting for the wedding of Miss Elsie Ann Locke and Pfc. George Doster Buckner this afternoon in the First Congregational church. Dr. Ellis W. Hay will read the dngle ring ceremony at 4:30 o'clock. Miss Ruth Ann Perry will sing, accom- - panied by Miss Dorothy Brown, organist. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore L. Locke of Indianapolis, and Mr. Buckner's parents are Mr. and Mrs, Doster Buckner, Ft. Wayne, Escorted by her father, the bride has chosen a white tissue taffeta gown fashioned with a colonial neckline, edged with a fichu of Chantilly lace, long sleeves with matching lace and a bouffant skirt extending into a train. Louise Bailey Gets New Post
Miss Louise Bailey, former 'st&f member of the state public welfare department, has accepted a position as consultant in physical’ therapy for the Services for Crippled Children, Territorial Board of Health, Honolulu, Hawaii. Before. leaving, Miss Bailey will receive training under Dr. Winthrop Morgan Phelps, well-known authority on the rehabilitation « of crippled children, at the Children's Rehabilitation institute, Baltimore, Md. ; Miss Bailey served as field supervisor: of. physical therapy for the services division for crippled children with the welfare department.
Brownie Group Holds Investiture
A candlelight investiture was held last night by Brownie Girl Scout troop 183. The Rev. Haakon Knudson was guest speaker at the service, which was in the Lyndhurst Baptist church. Girls invested were Misses Siretta Adams, Marjorie DeBurger, Effie Giddings and Shirley Kampovsky. : The troop recently held a revel with troop 158, Ben Davis, at Garfield park. Forty-five girls‘attended. A chicken dinner was furnished by the troop committees.
